In "Measuring the Value of a Degree and the Purpose of College," education writer Jeff Selingo brings up some of the new ways to approach post-secondary education. While there are advantages in alternative programs for many students, the Huffington Post scribe stresses the importance of college for a person’s intellectual and social maturation. He also makes clear the importance of a four-year degree in the workplace and its role in marking the possessor as an achiever who is ready to become a contributing member of society.

Math Tutor Michele Zdziemborski has a BSEE degree from GMI Engineering and Manufacturing Institute. She has specialized training in human factor engineering. She worked at GM and at General Dynamics where she used her engineering skills to develop an optimal vehicle environment for drivers as well as military personnel. Michele has an extensive history of tutoring, and working with children and their families. She began tutoring while she was in college. She began tutoring students in Calculus and Chemistry. She worked with individuals who were learning English as a second language; she helps them to improve their reading skills. She has tutored students in all subjects, except foreign language. She is fluent in American Sign Language. Her current emphasis is in the areas of Math and Science, with particular skill in preparing students for the ACT in these areas.
